Increasing global demands for the heat treatment industry is the need for reliable high temperature materials for precision, reliability, and safety requirements for temperature, control, and measurement engineering have increased the need for more precisely manufactured mineral insulated cables (MIC) with tighter tolerances.

In response, we recognized a market need to provide a high-temperature alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and strength for advanced MIC protection. Mineral insulated cables are used in industries where temperature control is important, Engineers need to have accurate readings to monitor core temperatures of a furnace.

We quickly put our unrivalled power in research and development into manufacturing this product. Added to that, we forged our ultra-deep technical expertise from our over 160-year Swedish steelmaking heritage to engineer an advanced alloy that reflects our commitment to delivering the absolute best in materials technology for our customers.

The result: Alleima® TD. The new Alleima offering for wherever you need to measure temperatures with greater accuracy and at higher temperatures. Alleima® TD is the solution for high-temperature corrosion-resistant for MIC.

Alleima® TD is a nickel-chromium alloy characterized by excellent resistance to high temperature corrosion, particularly in oxidizing conditions and good strength at high temperatures. This alloy is suitable for a wide range of applications where resistance to both heat and corrosion are requirements.

Alleima® TD: moving your business forward

Alleima® TD ensures consistent performance for mineral-insulated thermocouple cables, mineral-insulated measurement cables, and mineral-insulated heating cables – all the way to 1250 °C (and possibly beyond). Applications include thermocouple sheathing and heat tracing cables.

With a chemical composition including chromium, molybdenum, silicon, and nickel, Alleima® TD ensures excellent resistance to oxidation and excellent thermomechanical properties.

When we advance, so do our partners

Together with ISOMIL a leading manufacturer of mineral-insulated cables in Germany, we engaged in a mutual product development in September 2021. They recognized the value of our expertise, our people, our quality products, and our well-established knowledge within the industry. The partnership resulted in a firm order for Alleima® TD tubing, with successful delivery in the first half of 2024. Corrosion resistance makes mineral insulated cable ideal for use in areas where there are high temperatures or harsh environmental conditions because it has low flammability, where otherwise failure and replacement could be dangerous or even impossible.

Working with Daniel Bergmann from ISOMIL resulted in a firm order for Alleima® TD tubing. We are now launching our product broadly says Rickard Nikander, Senior Product Manager for High Temperature and Heat Exchanger Tube EMEA. “Working with Alleima we were able to get the right material solutions for our project helping to have an efficient, profitable and sustainable process,” says Daniel Bergmann, Operations Manager
