Alleima increases production capacity in Sandviken for advanced materials

To meet increasing customer demand for remelted high nickel and stainless steel bars and tubes, Alleima will invest in a new vacuum arc remelting (VAR) furnace to expand production capacity for segments like Aerospace, Medical, and Oil and Gas. Production is planned to start during autumn 2025.

Kanthal expands its production capacity in Japan to meet demand for sustainable heating solutions

Today industries such as lithium-ion battery, semiconductor and automotive show a strong demand for sustainable heating solutions to help them achieve higher efficiency and reach their decarbonization targets. To meet the increased need, Kanthal will expand its production capacity in Sakura, Japan, an investment of approximately SEK 100 million. The aim is to capture mid- and long-term market growth in Asia.

At Alleima's second Annual General Meeting, (AGM) in Sandviken, the innovation prize was awarded to Dr. Markus Mann, Technology and Innovation Manager, at Kanthal Division, for his exceptional work in developing the groundbreaking product Kanthal® Flow Heater.

The Vasa ship

The Vasa ship

A team of metallurgical experts from Alleima and engineers from the Vasa Museum, have together worked to replace approximately 5,000 steel bolts with new bolts made of super-duplex and hyper-duplex stainless steel.
