Hydraulic tubing and instrumentation tubing

Tube, pipe, fittings and flanges

Your ability to ensure safe, leak-free hydraulics and reliable control systems, with no unexpected shutdowns, is mission-critical across industries. While hydraulic and instrumentation tubing is widely available, few suppliers offer our exceptional high quality, extensive inventory and “six-star” peace of mind benefits.

Your goal – high system integrity

Whether you’re dealing with seawater, corrosive fluids or high pressures, you need hydraulic and instrumentation systems that are not only corrosion-resistant but “set a standard within the standard” for system integrity. This includes tubing that’s easy to bend, fit, weld and handle – ideally supplied in long lengths or continuous coils to minimize the need for cutting and welding.

Wide range of H&I alloys, sizes and formats

To meet your requirements, Alleima provides hydraulic and instrumentation tubes in a wide selection of corrosion-resistant austenitics, duplexes and nickel alloys. Our offering covers outside diameters (OD) from 1.59 to 50 mm (0.0625 to 1.968 in.). All sizes are supplied with smooth surfaces and close dimensional tolerances, minimizing the risk of leakages when connecting tubes with couplings.

Delivered on site, your way

Standard delivery form for hydraulic and instrumentation tube from Alleima is straight lengths of 6 meters, but our tubes can also be delivered as coiled tubing, contributing to reduced installation costs. This can be combined with our mobile tubing service solution, which can be used on-site.

We serve many industries

  • Oil and gas (upstream, midstream and downstream control systems)
  • Aerospace and defense (landing gear, flight control, instrumentation)
  • Power generation (nuclear power plants, thermal power plants, renewables)
  • Chemical and petrochemical (instrumentation for pressure and temperature monitoring)
  • Marine and offshore (ship control, steering and propulsion, offshore top-side instruments)
  • Food and beverage (food-grade fluids and gases, instrumentation for hygienic processes)
  • Pharmaceutical and biotechnology (cleanroom transfer or liquids and gases, process monitoring)
  • Pulp and paper (hydraulic systems for handling heavy loads, process control)
  • Mining and construction (in excavation, drilling and construction equipment; control in mining)

Key challenges to overcome

  • Corrosion: Especially in harsh seawater and chloride-containing envrionments.
  • High pressures & temperature: Withstand high pressure, avoiding fatigue, creep or burst.
  • Mechanical stress & vibration: Due to machinery in operation; cracking, wear, loosening of fititng.
  • Leakage & sealing: Tight tolerances and consistent ovality to avoid poor fittings and leakage.
  • Installation & maintenance: Compact spaces in subs, aircraft, etc; Easy to bend and weld
  • Material cost: Can be an issue with higher alloyed grades or, for example, titanium.
  • Regulatory compliance & safety: Meeting all key standards (ASME, ISO, API, NORSOK)
  • Longevity and lifecycle costs: Needs to last for a long time to offset upfront costs.
  • Supply chain issues: Due to disruptions or conflicts impacting availability.

“Six star” peace of mind approach

Our six star program is designed to overcome many of the challenges above:

  • Broadest Industry Range: Offers the widest selection of seamless stainless hydraulic and instrumentation tubing, with diameters from 1.59 to 50 mm (larger diamters available upon request).
  • Global Production & Stock Availability: Ensures24/7 supply through three dedicated mills for H&I tubing on three continents and extensive local stock warehouses worldwide.
  • Consistent Quality & Cleanliness: Top-levelcorrosion resistance, precise dimensional tolerance, and hardness control – setting a standard within the standard. All tubes cleaned in a 9-step process, with tubes larger than 5 mm OD (0.196 in) available with plugged ends for added protection.
  • R&D Expertise: Backed by one of the world’s largests metallurgical R&D teams across three continents, we offer deep materials expertise on corrosion-resistant alloys (CRAs). Over 900 active alloy compositions developed to ensure our efficient, safe and sustainable use.
  • 160 year Heritage: Established in1862 in Sandviken, Sweden, our legacy is rooted in delivering high-quality products. Extensive quality testing, including Eddy Current Testing (ECT) on every tube ensures compliance with rigorous industry standards.
  • Sustainable and Safe: Dedicated to safety and sustainability through continuous CSR and EHS programs. Utilizing 96% fossil-free electricity in global manufacturing, with 83% of steel produced from recycled materials in a circular approach.
