Today, companies need to maximize revenues amid the challenges of uncertain market conditions and the longer-term transition to sustainability in fuels and feedstock.

Global refinery margins are moderating following historic highs. The longer-term demand for refined products is shifting away from road transport, with overall decreases predominantly occurring in more developed economies.

In the fertilizer sector, demands to boost crop production while reducing carbon footprint continue to grow as more manufacturers share increasing information on how to produce in a cleaner way.

For the Americas refining and fertilizer markets, uncertainty means a greater focus on capturing margin upsides through a combination of performance transformation and increased production. Improving the efficiency and reliability of equipment to create as “tight a ship” as possible will be essential.

Ensuring resilience will mean evaluating the options for each asset and adapting operations to meet new demands. Alleima’s participation at the Latin American Refining Technology Conference (LARTC) in Cartagena, Colombia and the Ammonium Nitrate/Nitric Acid (ANNA) conference in Montreal, Canada showcased how our proud heritage for materials innovation, that began more than 160 years ago in Scandinavia, can contribute to our customers high and reliable performance goals.

At LARTC, we highlighted some of our advanced materials for the refinery sector with a presentation by Karen Picker, Technical Marketing Manager, Tube Americas, on “An overview of alloy options for crude unit overhead condensers when carbon steel fails” and provided insights and generated discussion and showcased our new duplex SAF™ 3006, designed for heat exchanger tubing in the chemical and petrochemical industries.

At ANNA in Montreal, Canada, we showcased our range of alloys that are pushing the possibilities in fertilizer production, such as corrosion-resistant Alleima® 2RE10, zirconium, and 304L. It was a great opportunity to build relationships and strengthen our connections with the many fabricators and end users that we already work with.

Delegates were interested in our product offer, particularly our heat exchanger tubing, our special alloys, and our product lines like hydraulic and instrumentation tubing, high temperature tubing, and hollow bars.
