We are a leading manufacturer of high value-added tubes in advanced stainless steels and special alloys. Founded in 1862 as Sandvikens Jernverk in Sweden. We develop materials such as duplex grades, high nickel and high temperature grades, titanium, and zirconium for advanced processes and applications in the most demanding industries. With headquarters in Sandviken, Sweden, Alleima with revenues of SEK 21 billion in 2023, has approximately 6,500 employees in 80 countries including the United Kingdom.

Alleima, is supporting industries to accelerate towards greater sustainability and circularity through its high-quality products.

Based on long-term customer partnerships and demands from the industry in the United Kingdom and globally, Alleima understands corrosion problems and works with customers to find the right solutions, either through direct technical support with its technical and commercial experts working with the customer’s engineers and buyers or via the technical centre on its website.

Alleima has in-depth expertise in materials technology, metallurgy, and industrial processes to move customers in the UK chemical and petrochemical industries ever forward. Developing groundbreaking alloys is at the heart of the company’s business. Its fully integrated production flow and value chain from R&D, melting to end product, ensures Alleima delivers consistent quality and full traceability. It allows Alleima to provide industry-leading technology, quality, sustainability, and circularity.

Products

Alleima hydraulic and instrumentation tubes are used to handle high temperatures, pressures, and extreme processes in chemical and petrochemical plants where only the absolute best in materials quality will do. Its heat exchanger tubes have been tested and proven to withstand the most challenging heat transfers between different corrosive process media. Its high temperature tubes are suitable for applications with temperatures above 500°Celsius. We provide an extensive range of nickel alloy and stainless steel solid bars and hollow bars, intended for machining. Many of our products are available for purchase in the Alleima E-track self-service portal. You’ll find Alleima products where you don't want to compromise with quality.

New material innovations

We have a continuous commitment to developing new materials such as Sanicro® 35, a super-austenitic alloy that combines the best features of super-austenitic stainless steel and more expensive nickel grades. Sanicro is the trademark name for our family of high-alloy, multi-purpose stainless steels. As a member, Sanicro® 35 (UNS N08935) is a structurally stable, PRE 52 super-austenitic alloy that offers extreme localized corrosion resistance and outperforms conventional 6Mo grades, with only moderate nickel content.

Also developed is SAF™ 3006 (UNS S83071) a high-alloy duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel that is tailored to enhance corrosion resistance in acid and caustic environments. Designed specifically for heat exchangers within the chemical and petrochemical industries, it provides a cost-effective alternative to austenitic stainless steels and nickel-based alloys.

How does Alleima contribute to the energy transition?

Alleima develops tubular products for applications such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, concentrated solar power, geothermal energy, offshore wind, and bioenergy. We use approximately 80% recycled materials and more than 96% fossil-free electricity. We are committed to reducing water usage, careful chemical management, and the effective use of by-products such as process gases.

We have been working on carbon footprint analyses, also known as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), for selected products for an extended period. Now, we share product-specific and reviewed carbon footprint data on our manufactured solid bar products, like the Sanmac 316L which showed an 81% reduction in carbon footprint in comparison to global average.

We are committed to sustainable procurement practices and strive to ensure that all our suppliers comply with the Alleima Supplier Code of Conduct.

Alleima has received a gold medal from EcoVadis, an organization that rates companies on their sustainability efforts. This places Alleima in the top 5% of more than 130,000 companies worldwide that were evaluated.
