Clean energy and the reduction of emissions are key trends driving the transformation of the energy industry in the Mediterranean region.
Northern and southern Mediterranean countries are investing in renewable sources like solar and wind, strengthening energy infrastructure, and exploring green hydrogen as part of the shift to a low-carbon future.
This transition is also driven by the need for greater energy security, regional cooperation, and alignment with global climate goals. As a result, the energy sector is changing and evolving, with significant investments in infrastructure and at the individual company level, all aimed at achieving a sustainable and low-carbon future.
The transformations in the world’s energy systems in recent years and how to support them were among the key issues discussed at the OMC Med Energy conference and exhibition, held recently in Ravenna, Italy.
Alleima at OMC Med Energy
The exhibition is a key event for the energy sector in the Mediterranean, bringing together major companies and organizations including producers, suppliers, service providers, and policymakers.
As a manufacturer of advanced alloys and solutions that enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of energy systems, Alleima has an important voice in the debate on the future of energy provision. Exhibiting at OMC Med Energy was a valuable opportunity to promote our new brand and reaffirm our position as a global leader in advanced stainless steels and special alloys, a reputation built over more than 160 years.
Our exhibition booth was very well attended by many existing and well-known clients. We also made many new contacts and look forward to strengthening our relationships with them in the future. There was lots of interest in our super-austenitic alloy Sanicro® 35, our new high-alloy duplex SAF™ 3006, our high-strength non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel Alleima® High N50 bar, and our wide portfolio of more than 900 active alloy compositions. Visitors were also impressed by our fully integrated production flow and value chain from R&D, to melting, and the end product. Our integrated production offering means we can ensure consistent quality and full traceability.
Alleima: advancing the energy industry
We support customers in the energy trilemma (security of supply, price competitiveness, and environmental sustainability) by providing advanced alloys and solutions that enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of energy systems. We are committed to sustainability, with over 80% of raw materials sourced from recycled steel and 96% of our electricity use being fossil-free.
Our alloys are provided in the form of strip, bars, tubes, piping, and heating elements for critical energy infrastructure, including hydrogen production, distribution, and storage. Our products, such as heat exchanger tubing, piping, and hydraulic and instrumentations tubes are engineered to withstand high pressures and corrosive environments, ensuring reliable performance in severe applications.
By using engineering as a force for sustainable good, we empower our customers to be their absolute best and push the possibilities for the Mediterranean energy industry.
