In November 2025, Alleima celebrated its 40-year heritage in China with the inauguration of our new production mill in Zhenjiang. It will double capacity, broaden the product range, and shorten lead times for customers across China and Asia.
The inauguration of our new production facility was an opportunity to catch up with some of our customers in the chemical and petrochemical, hydrogen, pulp and paper, and medical industries.

We also took time with our customers to hear how they feel Alleima moves them forward.
Valmet is among our highly valued customers. It is a global technology leader serving process industries including pulp, board and paper, tissue, energy, and services.
We sat down with Silja Inkinen, Manager, Material Quality Assurance, Valmet Oy, to explore why the relationship with Alleima is so special.
Alleima: In your opinion, as a supplier of special alloys and high-quality tube products, what is Alleima's core competitive advantage, and why do you choose Alleima as your partner?
SI: We chose Alleima as our partner tens of years ago, and I would say it’s the special products, special tubular products especially, which have been used by Valmet. We have been happy with the quality and also the availability of those special materials like composite tubes and special alloys.
Alleima: Which process or equipment impresses you the most at our new Zhenjiang Phase II facility?
SI: The composite tubes and the process for composite tube manufacturing. Sample tubes look brilliant.
Alleima: In the pulp and paper industry, what core shifts are occurring in the demand for tube products?
SI: It’s increasing. We have seen quite heavy demand, and we see it continuing in the coming years. That’s across the whole market, including China.
Alleima: From your side in the future, what's your expectation of Alleima, as your partner?
SI: The biggest expectations are the composite tubes and how we can build that. Not only the availability of the tubes, but also the capability to manufacture the components in China.
Alleima: Thank you for your insights, and we look forward to extending our partnership with you for many more years.
Our latest investment in Zhenjiang broadens our product offerings and capacity for composite tubes, high-temperature tubing, heat exchanger tubes, hydrogen tubing (high-pressure tubes), and cold-worked pipes. Expanding our local manufacturing capabilities will shorten lead times, enhance supply reliability, and strengthen collaboration with our customers in China and the wider Asian region.
