Last week, our EMEA team attended IWA OutdoorClassics 2025 in Nürnberg, Germany – one of the world’s leading exhibitions for manufacturers and traders of outdoor equipment and knives. For us at Alleima, this is an important industry events of the year, providing a key opportunity to showcase our knife steel portfolio and establish valuable connections with knife manufacturers and industry professionals.
IWA OutdoorClassics is a hub for innovation, networking, and knowledge exchange, and once again, we witnessed great interest in our materials. 2023 was the year we launched our Damax™ Damascus steel, and this year, it was evident that Damax™ has now become an established name in the market. Instead, our focus shifted to our entire knife steel portfolio – an impressive selection of ten high-quality steels designed to meet the highest standards in knife production.
Strong interest in Alleima’s knife steel
Our booth attracted a diverse range of visitors, from high-tech knife manufacturers to influencers and passionate knife enthusiasts. Among our most sought-after steels were Alleima 14C28N, 10C28Mo2, and 19C27 – materials that have become standards in the premium knife segment.
"We saw strong engagement and great interest in our portfolio, especially in our established grades. Damax™ was still a hot topic at the exhibition, but in a new way – now our customers wanted to test the steel in real applications and truly experience its performance," says Daniel Muecke, Key Account Manager, EMEA, Strip Division.

One of the highlights of IWA OutdoorClassics 2025 was seeing our customers succeed. We were thrilled to celebrate Maserin’s achievement of winning 2nd place in the IWA Knife Award with their kitchen knife made from our Damax™ steel. This recognition is a testament to the outstanding performance of Damax™ and how it enables manufacturers to create knives that stand out in both design and function.
