Pushing the possibilities for your projects
The Caspian region stands at a pivotal point in the European and Asian energy industry and its influence is increasing.
Recent geopolitical events have elevated the Caspian’s importance at the crossroads of several oil and gas supply routes in the region. Increasing volumes are flowing through the Southern Gas Corridor to Europe and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. The proposed Trans-Caspian pipeline, which has been in discussion for several years, is back on the agenda.
As well as being a focal point for distributing hydrocarbons elsewhere, the importance of the Caspian’s own energy industry is advancing. In Azerbaijan, production from the Shah Deniz field is increasing, and activity in the AGC oilfield is expected to grow. Meanwhile, Baku’s hosting of the COP29 annual international climate summit in November signals Azerbaijan’s energy ambitions.
The prominence of the oil and gas industry in the Caspian means the demand for control lines and oil country tubular goods (OCTG) is expanding. In Kazakhstan in particular, challenging conditions often require OCTG tubes made from corrosion-resistant alloys (CRA).
Alleima at the International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition
Advancing the industry’s growth was one of the main discussion topics at the recent International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition, attended once again by Alleima and held in Baku. The event reflected the high degree of optimism for the future of oil and gas in the region.
We’ve been supporting the Caspian oil and gas industry for more than 15 years since our first order for OCTG from Kazakhstan. Our CRA OCTG and control lines are popular throughout the region with our customers who accelerate their projects with our advanced materials technology.
Our range of control lines and OTCG tubing were the focus of our exhibition stand, which was well attended by visitors and service companies from across the region who were interested in knowing more about who we are and how we advance industries through materials technology.
Engineering as a force for sustainability
Optimising production is important, but so is sustainability. At Caspian Oil & Gas, there was significant interest in how Alleima makes innovative changes that bring about a real difference, especially how we support companies to be more sustainable, more efficient, and more profitable.
Demand from industry and society for ever more sustainable materials is only set to grow. But that’s not a new trend for us. Continuously evolving materials is what we do. And it’s what we’ve been doing for over 160 years.
