In a proactive step to promote women's safety, Alleima India in collaboration with Hope for the Children Foundation launched the Damini Sakhi program at the police headquarters in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune on October 21, 2024. This initiative highlights Alleima India's commitment to making women's safety a focus area of its CSR Strategy 2024.
The Damini Sakhi program is based on three pillars: prevention, training, and awareness. This comprehensive approach includes practical measures such as self-defense training, the establishment of a safety team called Damini Pathak to increase safety and prevent inappropriate behavior, and a city-wide poster campaign to raise awareness. In addition, the installation of CCTV cameras will enhance surveillance, while counseling services will provide important resources for women's well-being and support. This campaign is fully funded by Alleima India CSR and is being implemented under the leadership of Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Commissioner of Police, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune.
The campaign emphasized the importance of improved safety measures for women and the value of police and community collaboration. A highlight of the event was a training session led by Attorney Parikrama Khot, a Legal Officer at Sakhi One-Stop Center. Khot imparted valuable knowledge on women's issues, rights, and relevant laws to the participants and emphasized the importance of legal knowledge as a foundation for empowerment.
The Damini Sakhi program is a significant initiative and an example of Alleima India's commitment to effective CSR initiatives. In recognition of our broad-based community outreach efforts, Alleima India CSR has received a second award in the category "Best Rural Development Initiative" for Jalnidhi, a project that promotes holistic rural development in five villages in Mehsana. The award, conferred by the India CSR Network, highlights Alleima India's continued commitment to fostering positive change in communities across India.
