Mayr & Wilhelm, a German fabricator specialized on shell-and-tube heat exchanger, has chosen Alleima for duplex SAF™ 2205 stainless steel heat exchanger tubing.
The order is the largest recently for duplex stainless steel SAF™ 2205 in Central and Eastern Europe.
Mayr & Wilhelm is a leading equipment manufacturer in Germany and the preferred supplier for the chemical and petrochemical industries in Europe.
SAF™ 2205 was selected because of its excellent corrosion resistance and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride-bearing and hydrogen sulfide environments. It also has high resistance to pitting, general-, crevice- and erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue. The grade provides a high mechanical strength - roughly twice the proof strength of austenitic stainless steel – physical properties that offer design advantages, and good weldability.
Mayr & Wilhelm chose Alleima because of its materials expertise, good lead times, delivery, quality products, and deep knowledge of the heat exchanger industry. Alleima provides a high level of service, including technical support.
