Bring your hydrogen challenge to Hamburg

For three days our materials and application specialists are at Hamburg Messe. Talk through your specifications and see the tubing we supply across the hydrogen value chain. Prefer we reach out? Leave your details.

  • Tubing for the whole value chain

Seamless stainless tubes in coils and fixed lengths for electrolysers, storage and distribution, refuelling and fuel cells.

    Hydrogen and renewables
  • Alloy selection, face to face

Discuss hydrogen embrittlement, stress corrosion cracking and pressure containment with our specialists, and which grade fits your operating conditions.

  • On-site tubing solutions

Precision-bent tubes and Alleima Engineering, supported by the TEP Machine (Tube End Preparation) for leak-tight cone-and-thread connections on site.

The grades we'll be discussing

A quick guide before you arrive. Bring your pressure, media and temperature data and we'll narrow the choice down together at the stand.

3R60

Low to medium pressure

A controlled austenitic chemistry that gives reliable ductility and stable resistance to hydrogen degradation.

Typical use: production feed lines, transport loops, utility headers

HighN50

Cyclic loading

Nitrogen-strengthened for high mechanical strength and low magnetic permeability through rapid pressure and thermal cycling.

Typical use: refuelling dispensers, station buffer racks

FAQ

Hydrogen tubing, answered

Which stainless steels resist hydrogen embrittlement at high pressure?

Stable austenitic stainless steels with a high nickel equivalent keep a face-centred cubic lattice that slows hydrogen diffusion. Grades such as 3R60, HP120, HP160 and HighN50 keep their ductility and fracture toughness at elevated pressure.

How does ASME B31.12 affect material selection for hydrogen piping?

ASME B31.12 requires verified toughness, controlled chemistry and derating factors based on pressure and gas purity. Alleima supplies certified seamless tubing with traceable test reports for tensile, yield and impact properties.

What does the Alleima TEP Machine do?

The portable TEP (Tube End Preparation) Machine faces, cones and threads thick-walled tubing in one continuous operation on site. This removes the micro-gaps, irregular thread roots and surface chatter that cause leaks under cyclic high pressure.
