Know your lifecycle costs

The price of a tube is only part of what it costs you. Replacing it every few years, the maintenance around it, and the production lost while the unit is down usually add up to far more.

Tell us what you are running and the conditions it runs in. This tool suggests a material suited to those conditions, and shows what it would mean over twelve years.

What the equipment is, and what it has to handle.

The asset you want to evaluate.
What this duty is called on your plant. Optional, and it does not change the recommendation, but it tells our specialists what they are looking at.
The usual driver of pitting and stress corrosion cracking. If you are not certain, say so and the result goes to a specialist rather than guessing.
Fluorides attack differently from chlorides and rule out some grades entirely.
Higher temperatures make the same chemistry more aggressive. Above 150 C, tell us the figure you run at.

Your material

What is installed today, and how often it has to be replaced.

The material in the tubes today. Its price and density are what the current cost is worked out from.
Grades of the same material differ enough in price to change the comparison.
A material outside the list goes to an Alleima specialist, who will validate the selection, confirm the grade and evaluate the expected lifecycle cost with you.
Outer diameter and wall thickness. Pick a standard size or enter your own.
The straight length of one tube. With the size and the number of tubes this gives the weight of metal involved.
In the bundle being replaced. An approximate figure is fine.
How long the tubes last before they are replaced. This decides how many replacements fall inside the twelve year comparison.
What goes wrong with the tubes today. This does not change the recommendation, but it tells our specialists what they are dealing with.
How often it happens. Optional, like the question above.

Your costs

Estimates are fine. This is an indicative assessment, not an engineering calculation.

Two ways of saying the same thing. Pick whichever figure you have to hand, and we will use that one.
What one shutdown and replacement event costs you, including maintenance cost, lost production and labour, but not the tubes themselves. We work those out from the material and quantity above.
Everything this equipment costs you in a year: maintenance, and the production you lose while it is out of service.
Hours a year this equipment is out of service. With the figure above, this is what gives the hourly cost of an outage.
