Eight weeks from order to placement. That is how fast customers in Europe Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) can receive their heat exchanger tubes, as the result of a new express program.

What can keep a refinery manager awake at night? Most likely it’s the fear of an unplanned shutdown of the plant.

“Heat exchanger tubes may only be a small part of a large and complex refinery, but when they fail unexpectedly it can force a shutdown and a significant loss of income,” says Eduardo Perea, Senior Product Manager Tube EMEA.

Heat exchanger tubes in just eight weeks

As the result of a new heat exchanger express hollows program, our customers in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) can now rest assured.

It means our EMEA customers who urgently need to replace heat exchanger tubes can get them in just eight weeks from order placement.

Many of our hollows are already in stock and ready to go today.

World-leading quality combined with unsurpassed delivery speed

“Our heat exchanger express program is yet another example of our commitment to always seeking to be closer to our customers. To work out what you need before you realize it yourself. It means you can get the absolute best in tubing materials technology, with the highest quality, in only eight weeks from order placement,” says Eduardo Perea Senior Product Manager Tube EMEA.

Tubes included in the program come in an extensive range of advanced duplex, super-duplex, austenitic, and super-austenitic materials suitable for all types of heat exchangers such as seawater coolers, condensers, evaporators, heaters, and reheaters. The four grades in the program are:

SAF™ 2205: duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel.

  • High resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing and hydrogen sulfide environments
  • High resistance to general corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion
  • High resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
  • High mechanical strength
  • Physical properties that offer design advantages
  • Good weldability
  • OD 18 to 32 mm

SAF™ 2507: super-duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel for service in highly corrosive conditions.

  • Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing environments
  • Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
  • High resistance to general corrosion
  • Very high mechanical strength
  • Physical properties that offer design advantages
  • High resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
  • Good weldability
  • OD 18 to 26 mm

Alleima® 254 SMO*: high-alloy austenitic stainless steel used in seawater and other aggressive chloride-bearing media.

  • Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, PRE = ≥42.5***
  • High resistance to general corrosion
  • High resistance to stress corrosion cracking
  • Higher strength than conventional austenitic stainless steels
  • Good weldability
  • OD 18 to 26 mm

Sanicro® 35: combines the best features of a super austenitic stainless steel and a nickel alloy. Excellent corrosion resistance, for service in seawater and other highly corrosive environments.

  • Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking
  • High resistance to general corrosion in acid and caustic environments and high resistance to erosion-corrosion
  • Very high mechanical strength
  • Good weldability using nickel alloy consumables
  • OD 19.05 to 26 mm
  • The hollows are produced at our fully integrated mill in Sandviken, Sweden. The tubes are manufactured from the Swedish hollows at our production unit in the Czech Republic. Order quantities under the express hollows program range from 1 ton to 5 tons.

Don’t let the unexpected slow you down

“At Alleima, we aim to anticipate your next move. So, when you need replacement heat exchanger tubes you can get them quickly. And you get the best. That’s how you can rely on us to always move you forward,” concludes Perea.
