Mechanical tubing

Tube, pipe, fittings and flanges

Whether you’re in automotive, aerospace, industrial machining or general industry sectors, you may require tubes with specific mechanical properties, rather than just pressure-containing purposes. Our range of stainless steel and special alloy mechanical tubing is designed to provide the strength, toughness and machinability you need.

For example, when machining axles, valves, shafts, or other components that require strong tensile properties, it’s crucial to optimize cutting speeds while ensuring consistent results from batch to batch. Our range of austenitic and duplex mechanical tube grades offers a reliable, high-quality solution. With the added advantage of Sanmac® machinability-enhanced technology, you can avoid common issues such as poor chip breakage, tool gumming and work stoppage.

Serving wide-ranging applications

  • Automotive: For parts like axles, shock absorbers, and other components requiring a high level of mechanical strength.
  • Aerospace: Mechanical tubing in high-strength, lightweight alloys is used for airframes, hydraulic systems, and precision tools.
  • Industrial machinery: Shafts, rollers, and cylinders in heavy-duty industrial machinery.
  • General engineering: Any application requiring strength, durability, and machinability may utilize mechanical tubing, from small precision instruments to large machinery components.

Sustainability in focus

Many of our customers ask about our sustainability credentials and how our maufacturing aligns with their own environmental criteria. You’ll find more detailsin other parts of our website, but rest assured that our mechancial tube is produced from 84% recycled material in a sustainble process powered largely by fossil-free energy.

Consistent quality – from melt to final tube

Alleima is unique in the industry in having a fullly integrated value chain, from R&D and initial melt to production, inspection and final delivery. This mean that each and every tube has full traceability.

Machining made easy with Sanmac®

Below you’ll find our standard range of mechanical tubing, which includes a wide variety of sizes across six stainless steel grades, including duplex steel. Please note that Sanmac® is not a specific grade, but rather a proprietary technology used in our hot working process. It enhances machining properties by optimizing non-metallic inclusions within the tube. Additional mechanical tubing grades and sizes are available upon request.
