At Alleima we care

Alleima is committed to sustainable development. The Alleima Way, our code of conduct and our supplier code of conduct describes our foundational values and include the principles, rules and processes guiding our behavior.

Our commitment

The commitment to human rights at Alleima is based on internationally recognized principles:

  • The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (OECD MNE Guidelines)
  • The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs)
  • The Declaration of the International Labor Organization on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
  • The International Bill of Human Rights

Commitment to human rights is embedded throughout our supply chain, in our own operations and in our dialogue with suppliers.

The Alleima supplier management practice is based on the six steps of OECD´s Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct. The Alleima supplier code of conduct gives clear guidance of principles and rules for suppliers to be applied to and complied with.

Human rights due diligence is embedded as part of governance in Alleima processes. The Alleima code of conduct provides guidance on principles to be complied with, such as having a safe and healthy workplace, fair pay, no harassments, diversity, equality, non-discrimination, no child labor or forced labor and to freely form and join organizations of choice.

Human rights due diligence is also included when assessing potential acquisitions, larger investments and significant operational restructuring.

Since 2022 Alleima participates in UN Global Compact. As a participant, Alleima will make UN Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of the company (link to news from October 2022)

Alleima is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which outline the world’s common agenda for 2030. The commitment is to all 17 goals, where ten have been identified to be particularly relevant for our business and where we can make the greatest impact (read more at the link).

Grievance mechanisms – Speak Up

Alleima’s culture is one of integrity and respect. These core principles are reflected throughout our company, business practices and work around the world. We have zero tolerance for any form of misconduct or abuse by our staff or anyone associated with us.

As a support to the grievance mechanism, a Speak-Up system has been implemented. Our Speak-Up system (which is managed by a third-party provider, EthicsPoint) can be used by anyone (internal or external) to report suspected illegal, unethical or improper conduct by anyone associated with Alleima in a safe and confidential manner (link to Speak Up).

Communication of progress

The development, implementation, and results of humas rights due diligence and related activities are presented in our annual report. Statistics on grievances made through the Speak Up system are also included in the annual report.
