Your Role

As a Market Development Engineer at Alleima, you'll be a part of an international company with ambitious plans. You'll have the chance to make a real impact in advancing industries through materials technology.

The market development engineer serves as the link between Sales and Marketing, Global R&D and Production as such in this role you will:

  • Develop key end user relationships with a primary focus of establishing Alleima as the preferred solutions provider in targeted applications.
  • Gain firsthand information on projects, new technology and data needs through partnerships with key industry players
  • Be actively involve in key industry organizations (Materials Technology Institute, American Petroleum Institute, ASTM, Association of Material Protection and Performance).
  • Conduct market investigation to evaluate industry trends in technological developments and metallurgical needs for new product development and corrosion data generation.
  • Represent Alleima at industry tradeshows by preparing and delivering technical papers, presentations, and seminars.
  • Be a source of technical and product expertise providing support to sales activities and negotiations.
  • Develop training packages and marketing material such as application cards, technical brochures, and presentations.
  • Provide market intelligence to global business teams to support the growth of the business through strategic initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Metallurgy or Materials Science from an accredited university (Master’s or Doctor’s degree is a plus).
  • A deep understanding of high temperature and wet corrosion mechanisms in the refining and chemical process industry.
  • Strong technical background in stainless steels tubular products preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in technical sales with proven industry involvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in technical communications and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events (60% of the time) required.

Additional Information

  • Two positions available.
  • This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Technical Marketing Manager Tube Americas and will be based onsite in Houston, TX.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Relocation package not available.
