Advancing materials technology for the global process industries

The international process industries must accelerate efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint.

Greater efficiency requires advanced process conditions, like higher temperatures, higher pressures, and improved chemistries. This can create more corrosive environments and the need for more corrosion-resistant materials.

Reducing carbon footprint demands advanced technologies, such as Power-to-X renewable electricity. New technologies require different feedstocks.

Advanced corrosion and new feedstocks can lead to greater performance challenges for materials. Steel manufacturers need to understand them and accompany their customers through this technology transition.

Alleima is moving the process industries forward through expertise and range of high-alloyed stainless steels, nickel alloys, titanium, and zirconium materials. Our hydraulic and instrumentation tubes, heat exchanger tubes, high-temperature tubing, seamless pipe, solid and hollow bars, are meticulously crafted to meet the demands of the most challenging industrial applications.

Alleima at ACHEMA 2024

Alleima recently took part in this year’s ACHEMA - the world forum for the chemical engineering, process engineering and biotechnology industries. The event is held every three years in Frankfurt, Germany. This year, it attracted over 106,000 participants from 141 countries.

This was our third year supporting ACHEMA. We met many existing and potential customers, discussed how we can solve their corrosion challenges, and gained some valuable new insights about market trends in Power-to-X, hydrogen, decarbonization, and chemical recycling.

We held an event for customers and our exhibition stand attracted plenty of attention.

There was lots of interest in our new SAF™ 3006 Heat Exchanger tube, the missing tool in your duplex toolbox, our Sanicro® 625 austenitic nickel-chromium alloy, and Sanicro® 35, a super-austenitic stainless-steel alloy that bridges material property gaps. Our materials set new standards for performance and reliability, demonstrating our world-leading research and development and integrated production capabilities.

Advancing sustainability with Alleima

Alleima, is dedicated to sustainability - from product design to manufacturing processes. Approximately 80% of our products incorporate recycled materials and we support our customers in meeting their decarbonization targets. At ACHEMA we had several discussions about life cycle assessments (LCA) for bar steel as sustainability gains greater focus in the global process industries.
