Sustainable heating technology

Electrification of heating processes is a key enabler for a fossil-free industry. We are experts in industrial sustainable electric heating technology and resistance materials, providing products and solutions to a wide range of industries on a global scale.

As a world leader in sustainable heating technology and with the widest product range on the market, our Division Kanthal collaborates with energy-intensive industries such as steel, aluminum, glass and battery to develop electric heating solutions to help minimize their carbon footprint.

Products include resistance material in different forms, metallic and ceramic heating elements including Kanthal® Super molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) and Globar® silicon carbide (SiC) elements, Kanthal® APM and APMT furnace tubes, Fibrothal® heating modules and diffusion cassettes and air-and gas flow heaters.

Our materials and products are used for their ability to conduct heat in industrial settings. Our metallic special alloys can operate in temperatures up to 1,425 degrees Celsius while our ceramic materials can operate up to 1,850 degrees Celsius.

Industrial applications include for example:

  • Heating processes in production of steel, aluminum and glass
  • Heat treatment
  • Solar cell wafer production
  • Semiconductor wafer production
  • Lithium-ion batteries

High temperature and resistance material

Our materials are used for the manufacture of heating elements, thermocouples and a range of highly demanding high- and low temperature applications.

Heating elements

The Kanthal® program of electric heating elements is the widest on the market. Our heating elements outperform in temperature ranges up to to 1,850°C (3,360°F).

Prefabricated heating modules

Fibrothal® prefabricated heating modules with metallic heating elements and vacuum-formed ceramic fiber insulation for up to 1,350°C (2,460°F) element temperature.

Diffusion cassettes

Fibrothal® diffusion cassettes are a 'plug and heat' solution for the production of high-quality crystalline silicon wafers for solar cells and semiconductors.
