Asia’s largest conference on corrosion is back!

Corrosion has a substantial economic burden globally, and India is no exception. Corrosion is estimated to cost India approximately USD 100 billion annually. Besides financial implications, corrosion can pose a serious safety risk, especially when it occurs in critical infrastructure. For example, corrosion of aircraft components can also lead to fatal accidents.

Which is why events like CORCON are paramount to the industry. The largest annual conference and expo on corrosion science and engineering in Asia is slated to take place November 20 to 23, 2024 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

At Alleima, we are committed to being advocates of corrosion mitigation to unite and address the problem. During the event, we will be showcasing our award-winning super-austenitic stainless steel alloy Sanicro® 35, and our newest grade, SAF™ 3006 – the high-alloy duplex stainless steel that is tailored to enhance corrosion resistance in acid and caustic environments.

During the event, our material experts will be presenting

Investigations of De-zincification Induced Failure in Aluminum Brass Heat Exchangers in Oil Refineries by Jyoti Shankar Jha, Associate Lead Scientist, Alleima
November 21, 09:00am to 11:00am, Hall C

  • Aluminum brass tubes in an oil refinery failed prematurely due to the detrimental effects of de-zincification, which led to significant metal loss, pitting, and cracking. Delve into the importance of careful material selection for heat exchanger applications, and how upgrading to a more corrosion-resistant alloy like UNS S32707 would ensure long-term reliability.

Corrosion Testing and Application Case Studies of Sanicro® 35: A High Performance-to-Cost Ratio Alloy for Refineries and the Chemical Process Industry by Rohit Ojha, Technical Marketing Specialist, Alleima.
November 21, 02:00pm to 4:00pm, Hall C

  • Corrosion poses a significant threat to refineries and chemical plants, causing equipment failures and production losses. While costly alloys like Alloy 625 are commonly used, Sanicro® 35 offers a cutting-edge, cost-effective alternative. Discover its performance in demanding conditions through real-world case studies.
