Your Role
The Development Engineer at Business Unit Americas, Tube. Tube Americas is facing a changing market and needs to reposition itself (portfolio and go-to-market) for the future. This position as Development Engineer will play an important role in making this transformation. The purpose of this position is to has several Components: Be part of strategic, growth, and re-investment projects, lead local New Products Development (NPD), Bridging communication and work between tube production units, Sandviken R&D, the local production units, and implementing the supporting technologies, and act as a catalyst of change, and to work closely with the local teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead local New Products Development (Trail Plan, Risk Assessment, Final Reports and track the mill new capabilities)
Communicate with other tube units and Sandviken R&D.
Be part of investment projects
Continuously support the development of the local production units and adapt to market needs to strategies
Skills and Qualifications
Good Continuous Improvement Skills
Strong background in hot and cold tube production technology
Competitor’s and customer awareness
Good networking with other Tube Production Technology
Competitor’s and Customer awareness
Good networking with other Tube Production Units already developed.
Objective & Task management role- motivated to take own decisions, act and drives for results.
Knowledge & Experience – understanding of the Alleima Technology and specific business
Understanding of Lean Production Principles.
About You
Education- A bachelor’s degree in Material Science or master’s degree.
Experience- minimum 5 years of relevant product development experience and no more than 10 years of technical tube production experience.
