Job Purpose
To Manage all aspects of an engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget
Main Responsibilities
1. Project Schedule Plan, communicate, and implement for completing the project, monitor progress and performance against the project plan, take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
2. Identify, develop, gather and allocate the resources necessary to complete the project
3. This may include preparing work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and clearing bottlenecks for smooth execution.
4. Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to complete an engineering project and monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure these targets are met.
5. Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (for example engineering, Proposal, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistic) to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project
6. Select, and manage the activities of, outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
7. Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
8. Prepare and maintain project documentation and records; develop schedules
9. Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones
10. Track customer deliverables like stage payment, despatch clearance, final payment, final documents and after sales customer satisfaction.
11. Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve bottlenecks
12. Develop and train project engineers to understand the project function and do their duties professionaly.
Required Competencies
• Must have good analytical skills and proficiency on planning complex projects on project planning tools like MS Projects, Primavera etc.
• Effective communication and presentation skills to work closely with middle and senior management and technical people
• Ability to effectively work with different functions as engineering, proposal, procurement, manufacturing, quality.
• Having good knowledge of pressure equipment materials availability and cost, working experience with oil and gas companies, EPC, operating globally.
• Good negotiation skills with vendors / suppliers for cost control.
Experience
* 12-15 years experience working in project management and atleast 5-6 years as project manager for engineered equipments in Steel, Oil & Gas and Power segment in global environment. Experience working with ASU (Air Separation) and EPC operating in oil and gas and power segment will be preffered.
Note - If the candidate is from QC / Inspection background isprefered for this position.
Education
• Becholar degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial Engineering etc)
• Post graduation in management or operations will be an added advantage.
